Imagine being transported to the Civil War era – it is not that far-fetched. When you arrive at the Adams County Civil War Days, you will leave your modern day car behind to board horse drawn wagons that will take you to a Civil War encampment. The boom of cannons, sharp military drills, and the sights and sounds of the 1860s will greet you as you arrive in camp.
The John T. Wilson Homestead is proud to host the Adams County Civil War Days. It is only fitting that this event be held at the Wilson home. John T. Wilson recruited, funded, and formed up Company E of the 70th Volunteer Ohio Infantry at this very location.
Going on its fifth year, the Adams County Civil War Days keeps getting bigger and better. Re-enactors from though out the tri-state area will be set up camp with tents, wood cook fires and straw beds to participate in drills, marching, weapons handling, and other realistic Civil War activities. There will also be various vendors and period arts and crafts on display. This is one event that you do not want to miss.
